Echizen-Ono is worth choosing because, on mornings when the sky castle forms, it shows itself from dawn until around nine in the morning. On its opening day the Nanaken morning market runs from seven to eleven, so the castle and the market fit into one morning on foot. This guide covers the castle's seasonal admission times and ticket prices, the samurai residences, places to eat, the ride in from Fukui and the walk up to the castle gate, and the autumn event dates.

The Sky Castle and Echizen-Ono Castle Hours

On mornings when the sky castle appears, it lasts from dawn until around nine in the morning. The viewpoint for the sky castle is on the Inuyama trail, about one kilometer west of Echizen-Ono Castle, and the walk from the trailhead takes about twenty minutes. Build the morning around those two windows, then head for the castle itself.
