Takeda Castle Ruins suits an early start: in cloud sea season, from mid-September to early December, entry hours run from five in the morning to five in the afternoon. From Takeda Station, the station-back climbing trail reaches the castle ruins in about forty minutes on foot. Below are the ways up and their timings, the passable times at each trail gate, entry times and admission by season, parking, the opening times at Yamajiro no Sato and the information halls, and a plan for one morning.

Getting to Takeda Castle Ruins

From Himeji, the Bantan Line reaches Wadayama Station in a little under two hours. The ticket office at Takeda Station is open from seven in the morning until four in the afternoon. A one-day free pass for the Tenku Bus costs five hundred yen for adults and two hundred fifty yen for children.

Trail Gates and Entry Hours by Season

Every trail gate has set times for going up. The West Trail gate from Yamajiro no Sato can be passed from half past four in the morning until half past four in the afternoon. Viewing hours at the castle entrance building, where the fee is collected, run from five in the morning to five in the afternoon.

The castle ruins are closed for the winter from January fourth to the end of February. In two thousand twenty-six, the early-morning opening of cloud sea season runs until Sunday, December sixth. From Monday, December seventh, the opening hours are ten in the morning to three in the afternoon.

Admission and Parking

Admission is paid at the castle entrance building, and an individual adult ticket, for high school age and older, is five hundred yen per person. Groups of twenty or more pay four hundred fifty yen per adult. An annual passport for the fiscal year Reiwa eight costs one thousand yen.

Drivers should know that lot A at Yamajiro no Sato can become full by around two to three in the morning on weekends and holidays in October and November. Yamajiro no Sato and the Information Halls

Yamajiro no Sato, where the West Trail starts, is where the Tenku Bus leaves for the castle ruins, a ride of about ten minutes. Its restaurant is open from eleven in the morning to three in the afternoon, until four on weekends and holidays. On weekends and holidays in November it serves breakfast from seven to half past nine.

The castle information hall and the Wadayama tourist information office follow different times in October and November, as the table shows. The Wadayama tourist information office is closed from December twenty-ninth to January third. Yamajiro no Sato itself is at Yamajiro no Sato on Google Maps.

Planning One Morning on the Mountain

By car in cloud sea season, when entry begins at five in the morning, start at Yamajiro no Sato. On weekends and holidays in October and November its lot A can be full by around two to three in the morning, so arrive earlier. Its West Trail gate can be passed from half past four in the morning.
